Funeral services for Patsy Walker Welch, 94 of Sterlington, Louisiana, will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, August 21, 2021, graveside at Mulhern Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor John Magnuson officiating.
Mrs. Patsy Walker Welch was born to Thomas Henry Walker and Ina Mary Bell Walker on February 10, 1926, in Delhi, Louisiana and passed from this life to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, her savior, Monday, August 16, 2021, in St. Francis Medical Center.
Mrs. Patsy Walker Welch was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 77 years, Adrian Welch; sisters, Jackie Walker, Peggy Walker, Beulah May Walker Nivens, Joyce Faith Walker Buchans, Mary Alice Patty; and brother, Travis Delbert Walker.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and Ray Thomas of Winnsboro, Louisiana; sisters, Lucille Walker, Linda Louise Walker Hill and husband Floyd; brothers, Thomas Earl Walker and wife Karen, James William Walker and wife Betty; sister-in-law, Joanna Walker; daughter, June Matheny of Little Rock, Arkansas; three grandsons, Craig Thomas and wife Anna Thomas, Patrick Thomas and wife Julie Thomas all of Winnsboro, Louisiana, Robert Matheny of Little Rock, Arkansas; and granddaughter Allison and husband Tony Robertson; twelve great grandchildren, Natalie Sanchez, Cabe Thomas, Adriana Monnin, Audra Lewis, Ashley Thomas, Abigail Thomas, Emilie Robertson, Annalise Thomas, Jessica Little, Raylee Thomas, Rylan Thomas; Caroline Robertson and Ellie Robertson; and three great-great grandchildren, Lyndi Thomas, Amelia and Anna Reese Little; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Patsy Welch was an excellent seamstress who retired from the trade in early 2000’s. She spent many of her retirement years volunteering at North Monroe Hospital where she enjoyed being the hands and feet of Jesus by helping others. She was a long-time and faithful member of Sterlington Baptist Church. She was a loving and giving friend, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed helping others, taking care of her grandchildren and cooking. She also enjoyed spending time with her family if it was nothing more than just sitting and talking. Her presence, kind heart, loving smiles and wonderful stories will be greatly missed by all her family and those who had the pleasure of calling her a friend.
Pallbearers will be Robert Matheny, Craig Thomas, Patrick Thomas, Cabe Thomas, Raylee Thomas, Rylan Thomas and Tony Robertson.
