Patrick Lewis “Pat” Booker, Sr.Mulhearn Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA Funeral Services for Mr. Patrick Lewis “Pat” Booker, Sr., of Calhoun, LA will be held 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA. Patrick Lewis “Pat” Booker, Sr. passed away Sunday, October, 4, 2015. He was born June 17, 1939 in Shreveport to Alice Camp and Perry Lewis (P.L.) Booker.Pat was a prominent businessman in the Monroe/Northeast Louisiana area for the last 45 years. Following his service to his country with the US Army, he graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge with a chemical engineering degree. He was the owner of Richland Morris Insurance Agency and former owner of BECO, Inc. He was a founding member of the Bayou Kennel Club, Northeast LA Rotary Club, LSU Alumni Association, Past-President of the Strauss Little Theater and Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board. Pat had many passions in life but none more than his love for LSU athletics and his time coaching Monroe Youth Baseball and Gray “Y” Football. He was known by his grandchildren as Gramps and PaPaw, “Coach Booker” by the many children he coached over the years, and Booker to his friends all of which he cherished. He leaves behind a wife of 49 years, Ruth Booker; sons and daughters-in law, Patrick and Shelley Booker (wife)-Shreveport, Michael and Linda Booker (wife)-Calhoun; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Peggy Booker of Houston, TX; and grandchildren Morgan, Mary Alice and Emma Booker-Shreveport and Mike Booker-Calhoun. Pallbearers will be Johnny Dollar, Kirby Price, David Verlander, Shannon Harkins, Stephen Walker and Rob Garner. Honorary Pallbearers are Bob Kostelka, Jim Dimos, David Erskine, Fred King, Billy Foster, Harry Pankey, Dr. Jay Weiss and S. J. Shlosman.
