Graveside services for Patricia Anne Tucker Sherman, 96, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA, with Rev. Larry Stafford officiating. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Shreveport, LA.
Mrs. Sherman was born February 13, 1927, in Shreveport, LA, and passed away on November 4, 2023, in Bossier City, LA. She was raised in Marion, LA, and she graduated from Marion High School, where she played on the basketball team. She received her nursing training at St. Francis Hospital (where she met her future husband while he was stationed at Selman Field).
Patricia spent most of her life living in Monroe, Louisiana, where she played the organ for many different organizations, churches, and events. Mrs. Sherman was a member of the First Methodist Church of Monroe, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Selman Field Reunion Association, and the Monroe Symphony League.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. (Dick) Sherman; her parents, Harvey Bartlett Tucker and Stella Arrant Tucker; two sisters, Alvina Tucker Wright and Peggy Tucker Cobb; and two great grandsons, Layton Paul Sullivan and Conner Dale Harris.
Survivors include her son, Richard Scott Sherman and his wife, Barbara of St. Joesph, LA; daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Mitzi) Cruickshank and her husband, John of San Antonio, TX; son, Michael Stuart Sherman and his wife, Maribeth of Bossier City, LA; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Nelwyn Tucker Hale of Fort Worth, TX.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Brookdale Bossier for their kind and compassionate care over the past 1½ years. They would also like to thank Bristol Hospice for their care during her final weeks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, 701 Kansas Lane, Monroe, LA 71203.
