Patricia Ruth Krupp Rooney was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on September 17, 1928, and passed away from this world into the arms of her Heavenly Father on December 11, 2023, at the age of 95. She graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School and attended Loyola University, where she met the love of her life, Paul Anthony Rooney. They were happily married for 62 years, and she was a dedicated and extremely competent mother of five children. She also worked as a medical technologist, and as a bookkeeper for the Whole Food Company in New Orleans. She lived in Paulding, Mississippi for a time, where she gardened, raised animals, and preserved food she grew. She retired to Abita Springs and eventually to Monroe, Louisiana, where she enjoyed life with Paul, family, and friends. She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Church in Monroe and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Paulding.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Nicholas Krupp and Anna Virginia Bagnetto Fontana; stepfather, Leon Fontana; beloved husband, Paul; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her five children, Kathy Rooney Canavello (Doug), Barbara Pendragon (Ron), Carol Warren (Randy), Kevin Rooney (Karen), and Stephen Rooney (Nancy). She is also survived by grandchildren, Carol Chauvin (Dan), Kathryn Copple (Dirk), Rebecca Rooney, Matthew Rooney, Jennifer Rooney, Alex Rooney, Kristen Hill (Lynn), and great grandchildren Cole Chauvin, Kyle Chauvin, and Caroline Copple.
Aside from being smart as a whip, she had a great sense of humor. She was an excellent cook, an avid football fan, was computer savvy, and we called her Doctor Mom. She was loved dearly and will be missed by all.
