Patricia "Pat" Ann Hardwick

A celebration of life honoring the memory of Ms. Patricia “Pat” Ann Hardwick, 62, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Christ Church, with Rev. Nathan Thompson officiating. 

Ms. Pat was born on August 6, 1961, in West Monroe and passed away surrounded by her beloved family on July 28, 2024, in West Monroe. 

Pat was a longtime employee of the Ouachita Parish School Board where she drove a bus for Claiborne Elementary. When not driving the bus Pat enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a big supporter in all activities that the grandchildren participated in. Whether it was freezing or sweating at a softball or soccer game or indoors at volleyball she was loud and proud! She was the kind of woman who could make you feel like family even if you were just a friend of the family. She wouldn’t think twice to spend her last dollar if one of her grandkids said, “I’m hungry.” She wore her emotions on her sleeve and could be hardheaded, but she loved even harder. Most importantly she loved God and maintained her faith. She never gave up or accepted defeat, even in her final days. 

The family would like to express thanks to Dr. Scott Irby and staff, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and Heart of Hospice for their love and compassion over the last several months. 

Ms. Pat was preceded in death by her father, Charles Dewitt Head; mother, Esther Loure Smith Head; and sister, Teresa Shanks. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Michael Vestal (Heather), Daniel Dean (Jamye), and Nathan Dean; granddaughters, McKenzie Vestal, Jacie Vestal, Averie Vestal, and Isla Dean; grandson, Leeland Dean; brother, Charles Head (Nancy); and numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
