Patricia Anne Sartin

December 2, 1945 — January 25, 2018

Patricia Anne "Pat" Moore Sartin passed from this earth on January 25, 2018, at the age of 72. She was preceded in death by her father, Nolan Cordill Moore, and her mother, Anne Slay Moore. Survivors include her husband and soul mate for over fifty years, John Ray Sartin, Jr., her son, Michael Sartin of Nashville, Tennessee, her son Scott Sartin of Winnsboro, Louisiana, her daughter-in-law daughter, Holly Sartin, her grandchildren, Chase and Anne Elise, her brother, Nolan Cordill "Pete" Moore, Jr. and his wife, Rebecca, of Savannah, Georgia, and thousands of family, friends and students whose lives she touched.

Pat was a 1964 graduate of Winnsboro High School, where she was the valedictorian of her class and a forward on the high school basketball team. She met John at Ole Miss and graduated with degrees in Spanish and Mathematics in 1968 while also representing the school as a member of its tennis team. She was also proud of her membership in Phi Mu Sorority at Ole Miss where she served as President and made numerous life-long friends. After she completed her student teaching in Memphis, Pat and John married and lived in Guam and Cheyenne, Wyoming before returning to Winnsboro. Pat was a member of Winnsboro First United Methodist Church her entire life where she served in numerous capacities. She was very involved in the UMW and the chairperson of the Staff-Pastor Parish Relations committee at the time of her death.

Pat was extremely active throughout her life, as well as being a voracious reader, a sports enthusiast and an expert in the happenings in Oakdale and Genoa City. She is perhaps remembered by most as his/her math teacher or principal. Pat spent over fifty years of life teaching students, and educating young minds was her passion. She loved nothing more than her family, and, in the final years of her life, she enjoyed watching Chase and Anne Elise at different functions and events. She was so proud of them and could easily be seen and heard at any ballgame where her grandchildren were participating. Her life was filled with happiness, love and the knowledge that she will continue to live in the many lives of the family, friends and students who were fortunate enough to know her.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Winnsboro, with Rev. Chris Winterman, Rev. Fran Guy, and Rev. Johnny Hankins officiating. Interment will follow in New Winnsboro Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Her pallbearers are Chase Sartin, Troy Free, James Wells, Kevin Guice, Brad Guice, and Lynn Middleton.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28th at First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro.
