Patricia Ann Mills Holstead of Monroe, Louisiana passed away Sunday March 30th, 2008. She touched so many with her kindness and generosity. She was a woman of great integrity and compassion, a loyal, dedicated fun loving friend to many.

She was born on December 27th, 1930 in Vernon (Lamar County), Alabama to Edward Clinton Mills, deceased 1963, and Ila Brock Mills, deceased 1993. Her sister Suellyn, born in 1942, died in 1999. She grew up in a spiritual, loving Brock Family. In 1942 the family moved to Mobile, Alabama where her mother continued her 42 year teaching career. Her father worked in the Mobile ship yards until WWII ended when he started a car sales business. In 1965 Pat joined the d’Iberville chapter of American Business Woman’s Association in Mobile where she served before relocating to Monroe, Louisiana March17, 1967. In Monroe, she continued serving in various ABWA offices including President of Tupawek Chapter in 1971. Pat was an office manager for Motor Supply Company Headquarters where she retired in 1996. She was an accomplished business woman and awarded ABWA Woman of the Year in 1972. Pat and her husband William (Bill) Holstead, deceased, were active members of First Christian Church in Monroe.

Funeral services will be conducted at the church at 3400 Forsythe Avenue on Friday, April 4th 2008 at 2:00pm with Rev. Randy Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Douglas Cemetery in Choudrant, Louisiana. Visitation will be held Thursday April 3rd in Mulhearn Funeral Home at 300 McMillan Road in West Monroe, Louisiana from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Beloved Mother is survived by three daughters, Pam Lauber and husband Bill, and their children: Ashlie Cooper of Mobile, Alabama and Elizabeth Sweatt of San Francisco, California, Debbie Holloway and husband Ronnie of Ruston, Louisiana, and their children: LeighAnn McCorkle of Ruston, Louisiana, Rod Holloway of Jackson, Mississippi and Katie Holloway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Connie Corley and husband Roger of Rowlett, Texas and their children: Kelly Corley, Austin, Texas and Paul Corley in Reykjavik, Iceland and 8 great-grandchildren. Also three step-children, Brenda Rocconi and husband Tom of Sterlington, La., Tim Holstead and wife Veronica of West Monroe, La., Danny Holstead and wife Tanya of Wylie, Texas, 9 step-grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rod Holloway, Rick Gunn, Jim McCorkle, Steve Holmes, Tim Holstead, Danny Holstead, Kevin Fields and Bryan Payne
Honorary Pallbearers are Cleve Norrell, Jack Rutledge and Dick Shell

The family would like to give special thanks to the compassionate physicians, nurses and care givers at Glenwood.

In lieu of Flowers, Pat would like donations to be made in her memory to St Jude's Children’s hospital in Memphis, Tennessee or First Christian Church in Monroe.

We are sure Pat would like to say to all her friends and care givers who struggled with her to the end … if you could see me now!
