Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Oscar Thomas Jones, Jr., 62, of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Riverview Cemetery with Tim Coats officiating.

Mr. Jones was born November 14, 1948 in Monroe, LA and died suddenly on February 23, 2011 in West Monroe, LA. He graduated from West Monroe High School and ULM with degrees in History and English. He had several jobs in radio, worked for the Louisiana Department of Public Welfare, worked in the paralegal field and at FOX 14 Television in West Monroe.

He enjoyed fishing, reading, and loved to debate everyone in the family. He also loved his cats, Peridot and Little Blackie. He will be greatly missed by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Oscar Thomas Jones, Sr.; sister, Dorothy Ellen Jones and niece, Carol Lynn Hill.

He is survived by his sisters, Lynda Gayle Jones of Canyon, TX, Roberta Arnold of West Monroe, and Dewey Peel and her husband Cary of Calhoun, LA; nieces, Wendy Baird and husband Kevin of West Monroe and Anna Peel-Turner and her husband Todd of Cleburne, TX; nephew, David Wayne Arnold and his wife, Tammie of West Monroe; great nieces, Sarah Arnold and Reagan Baird, great nephews, Jacob Arnold, Brad Guinther and Kyle Guinther.

Pallbearers will be his family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
