Oscar James Odaware

Memorial Services for Mr. Oscar James Odaware, 63, of Downsville, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Downsville, LA, with Rev. Bobby Kranz officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Saturday at the church.

Mr. Odaware was born September 14, 1958, in Pasadena, TX and passed away April 6, 2022, at his home in Downsville, LA, surrounded by his family. He was a member and Deacon at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. Mr. Odaware was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed frying fish for everyone, especially at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Odaware; daughter, Rachel Morse (Seth); grandchildren, Addison Adams, Paxton Morse, Amelia-Mae Morse, Raelyn McCloy, Kota Morse, and Liam James Morse; two brothers, Randy Odaware (Brenda) and Billy Odaware (Nancy); sister, Katherine Swinea (Michael); and uncle, Rickey Neal Wade (Janet).

Memorials may be made to the Mt. Ararat Baptist Church Building Fund or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
