Funeral Services for Mr. Oliver E. Moore, Jr., 87, of West Monroe, LA will be 3:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2011 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Danny Hawthorne and Gary Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Moore died on November 23, 2011 comfortably at his home in West Monroe after an extended illness. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Moore was a Fire Controlman, First Class T. Gunner with the United States Navy during WWII. He was an avid duck hunter and bass fisherman. Mr. Moore was manager of Paramount Theater in Monroe and in 1954 went to work for his father in law at Frost Trailer Company where he became co-owner and manager until his retirement.

Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Mary Lee Frost Moore.

Survivors include: daughter, Linda Moore Richardson and husband Gary; son, Oliver E. “Skip” Moore and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Sydney Richardson Zumbrun, Matt Richardson, Olivia Moore, Laura Beth Moore, Jay Bailes, and Emily Bailes Walter.

Pallbearers will be Robert Ballard, Jay Bailes, Matt Richardson, Frank Rose, and Michael Rose. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Ballard, James Frost, Hodge Garrett, and J.R. Hood.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, November 27, 2001 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Memorials may be made to The Gideon’s International or the American Cancer Society.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Family Life Home Health, Marcie Stephenson, RN,  First Choice Hospice, Dr. Frank Weinholt, Dr. Mark Dollar, caregivers, Shirley Brown, Sandra Buchan, and special longtime care giver, Clara Elmore for their devoted service.
