Olen Ray Manhart

Funeral service for Mr. Olen Ray Manhart, 81, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.

Mr. Manhart was born on January 19, 1941, in Peoria, IL, and passed away on July 25, 2022, in Monroe, LA.
Ray was raised in Sterlington, LA and attended Ouachita Parish High School. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University majoring in electrical engineering. He began his career in the natural gas industry, prior to spending the majority of his career with the General Motors Guide division. He retired from Hatch, Mott, McDonald, concluding a career of over 50 years. He loved his family with all his heart and enjoyed dining with them, flying radio control airplanes and fishing.

Mr. Manhart was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Elizabeth Wills Manhart; and his parents, Olen Harold Manhart and Ella Virginia Higgins Manhart.

Survivors include his brother, Fred Manhart and wife Liz; children, Christine Robinson, Catherine Poret, Robert Manhart, and Mark Manhart and wife Amanda; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
