Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd Peters, Jr., 73, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 19, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Bro. Lindle Stewart and Rev. Matt Coker officiating. Interment will follow in Start Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA.

Mr. Peters was born August 18, 1948, in Oakdale, LA, and passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA.

Mr. Peters was a graduate of NLU, was a retired LA State Fire Marshall, worked in wood crafting, and helped with admissions at River Oaks ballgames. He was a member and Deacon of New Light Baptist Church. Mr. Peters and his wife were together for many years, and he loved spending time with his family, cooking, hunting, and camping.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Tommie Jean Moore Peters; children, Angela Daniels, Todd Peters and wife Jaclyn, Greg Peters and wife Kristin; grandchildren, Chelsea Babineaux and husband Bart, Savanna Rinehart and husband Spencer, Becca Daniels, Jared Peters, Cecilia Peters, Blake Peters, Alexis Freeman, Brittany Wilson and husband Jason, Nate Wilson, Avery Wilson, Eli Wilson, Cole Wilson, and countless others that lovingly referred to him as Papaw; sister-in-law, Deborah Nappier and husband Bruce, and brother-in-law, James Simmons.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Nappier, Jason Wilson, Jimmy Simmons, Robby Simmons, Bart Babineaux, Blake Peters, and Jared Peters.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of New Light Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Light Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
