Funeral services for Mr. Odis S. Fontenot, 80, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday September 18, 2013 at the Hasley Memorial Pavilion in West Monroe with Kirby Willis officiating. Interment will be in the Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Mr. Fontenot was born on March 1, 1933 in Bogalusa, LA, and passed away on September 15, 2013 in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of the Ridge Avenue Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA. Mr. Fontenot was a VA and FHA Staff appraiser and real estate broker for 45 plus years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. Daddy loved his family dearly and has always been a pillar of support for them. Daddy was proud that all of his sons served in each branch of the military, Marines (Sammy), Army (Kenny), Navy (Ricky), National Guard (John Gary) He is preceded in death by his parents Leon and Lovie Fontenot, brother, Cecil Fontenot, and sister Donna Fontenot.
Survivors include his wife Mary L. (Maxine) King Fontenot; children, Sherri Fontenot Willis and husband Kirby, Odis S. (Sammy) Fontenot, Jr and wife Lisa, Kenny Fontenot and wife Clevea, Ricky Fontenot and wife Candy, John Gary Fontenot and wife Kristi; grandchildren, Holly, Courtney, Justin, Kendra, Sydney, Amber, Allison, Whitney, Kevin, Kelsi, Zach, Emily, and Audrey; great grandchildren, Luke, Wyatt, Carter, and Avery; sisters, Mary Albritton, Shirley Stokes; brothers, Bruce Fontenot, Wayne Fontenot, Roy Lee Fontenot and Johnny Fontenot; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Fontenot, Kenny Fontenot, Ricky Fontenot, John Fontenot, Justin Fontenot and Kevin Fontenot.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce Fontenot, Wayne Fontenot, Johnny Fontenot and Roy Fontenot.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday September 17, 2013 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
