Funeral Services for Mr. Norman Ross Golson, 89, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 26, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, West Monroe with Rev. Jon Tellifero officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery in West Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mr. Golson was born September 25, 1920 in Calhoun, LA and passed away August 23, 2010 in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, West Monroe where he was a member of the choir for over 50 years. Mr. Golson was a retired District Supervisor of Vocational Rehabilitation for the State of Louisiana and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He received his B.S. Degree from Louisiana Tech University. Mr. Golson loved to work in his garden. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cascille Golson; his grandson, Joe Golson; his parents and his sister.

Survivors include his son, James Ross “Jimmy” Golson and companion, Debra Deal Carter; daughter, Roslyn Andela and husband, Andy; grandchildren, Cascille Hampton and Drew Andela; brother, Dr. Jack B. Golson and wife, Dorothy; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Van Westbrook, David Golson, Boyd Dalrymple, Stanley Burkett, Bob Henson, and Al Goodwin. Honorary Pallbearer will be Billy McClendon.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Memorials can be made to The American Diabetes Association or to First United Methodist Church, West Monroe.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, Cornerstone Hospital, and to Debra, who has been a special angel to Mr. Ross for the last 18 months.
