Memorial Services for Norman L. Carter, 89, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 19, 2012 in the Feazel Chapel of First Baptist Church West Monroe, LA with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating.
Mr. Carter was born on December 12, 1922 in Merrick County, NE and died on November 15, 2012 in West Monroe, LA. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Norman farmed the land he loved in Nebraska and remained true to his Husker roots. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for whom he sang with a beautiful tenor voice. We rejoice that he is with his Savior now. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, brother and friend. He was dearly loved by many. Mr.Carter is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Carter and sister, Neola Faith Van Winkle.
Survivors include his daughters, Marsha Davis, Carol Smith and husband, Joseph, Claudia Crittenden and husband, Bob and Jacquee Jerome and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Toneya Davis, Jenny Smith, Adam Crittenden, Matthew Smith, Erin Sampley, Alison Goss and Melissa Jerome; nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; step-daughter, Gayle James and husband, Ron; step-son, Gary Perkins and wife, Jackie; 4 step-grandchildren, Jill White, Ronnie James, Kimberly Wassan, Jennifer Bible and Jessica Higgins; nine step-great grandchildren and brother, Glenn W. Carter and wife, Jo.
