Funeral services for Norma Jean Brandle, 78, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Msgr. Edmund Moore, Rev. Joe Puthuppally, Rev. Job Edathinatt, and Rev. Thomas Lijo officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Brandle was born in Geneva, OH on May 3, 1932 and passed away Friday, December 24, 2010. She lived in Bethesda, MD and New York City and graduated with a B. A. from Parsons School of Design in New York City in 1954. Norma married Bill Brandle in 1958 in Cleveland, OH and then moved to Monroe in 1958.
Mrs. Brandle was one of the founding members of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in 1959. She lectored at St. Francis Medical Center Chapel at daily masses for the past six years. Mrs. Brandle was a loving wife and mother for over 50 years. She will be remembered by those who knew and loved her for her joyful spirit, beautiful smile, and sweet way of praying and sharing her faith with others.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-two years, William J. “Bill” Brandle; son, Scott A Brandle and wife Theresa Maggio Brandle; granddaughter, Heather Brandle Sweeney and husband Kirkland S. Sweeney; great grandson, Shawn Sweeney; great granddaughter, Saraphina Sweeney; sister, Elisabeth Wimsatt; brothers-in-law, Gene Brandle and wife Ruth, and Rocco Yervasi; and numerous nieces and nephews all across the country.
Pallbearers will be Gary Floyd, Charlie Sampognaro, Doug Seegers, Danny Ellender, Bryan Maggio, and Jerry Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Danna, Sam Danna, Tommy Powel, Charlie Hamaker, and Tom McDonald.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a Vigil Wake Service at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family would like to thank Dr. “Chuck” Morgan and his staff, and all those at Hospice Compassus for their compassionate care and dedication.
