Nobey Auttonberry Davis

April 14, 1925 — September 24, 2014

Our mother, Nobey Auttonberry Davis of Winnsboro, LA., was born April 14, 1925 in the community of Grayson, LA. She died September 24, 2014, in the year of our Lord, at the age of 89.She was a devoted wife and loving mother. She enjoyed reading, needle point, and the company of her family and friends. She was a dedicate Christian; and, for many years she taught Sunday school at Temple Baptist Church in Winnsboro, LA. Mother graduated from Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, Ruston, LA in 1945 with a Major in English. She taught English and History in both Grayson and Winnsboro, LA.In 1950, she took a train from Grayson, LA to Boston, MA where she married Herbert L. Davis, Jr. They were married for 52 years until his passing in 2002.She is survived by three sons, Glynn A. Davis and wife Darlene of Winnsboro, LA, Alton R. Davis of Sienna Plantation, TX, and Ralph S. Davis and wife Sharlie of Terrell, TX; three grandchildren, Kimberly Torres, Cody Davis and Paul Davis; and, multiple great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Paul Davis, Cody Davis, Adam Thornton, Clint Medlen, Jake Medlen, and Tommy Parker.Funeral services will be at Temple Baptist Church, Winnsboro, LA on Sept. 27, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. with Dr. Bill Robertson. Burial will be in Myrtle Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, September 26, 2014.
