Funeral Services for Mrs. Nevesa D. Dumas, 76, of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe with Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun.
Mrs. Dumas was born January 13, 1935 in Farmerville, LA and died on October 27, 2011 in West Monroe, LA. She was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe. Mrs. Dumas retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company. She was a Telephone Pioneer. Mrs. Dumas taught Sunday School and was very active with youth programs at the church including GA’s. She was involved in the Operation Christmas Child Program. Mrs. Dumas will be dearly missed by her many friends in the Magdalene Sunday School Class. She was one of twelve children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Alvin and Mittie Ann Downs; sister, Helena Downs Rogers Patrick; and her husband, Robert Eugene Dumas.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to the following: her children, Terry L. Dumas and wife, Anne, Tanya Dumas Hoover and husband Greg, Pam Dumas Bacon and husband Max, Becky Marshall and husband Lamar; grandchildren, Leslie Bauman and husband Cody, Daniel Dumas and wife Maddie, Kate Dumas, Morgan, Matthew and Mitchell Bacon and Caroline Marshall; two great-grandchildren, Hudson Lane Dumas and Henry Todd Bauman; sisters and brothers, Ann Bonner and husband Ray, June Holton and husband JW, Erma Harp and husband Paul, Dale Downs and wife Kay, Ralph Downs, Eunice Herring, Evonne Peoples and husband Bill, Julie Hale, Kathy Beth and husband Howard, Carol Hay and husband Bert; numerous special nieces and nephews; special friend and caregiver, Tammy Williams; as well as many dear friends.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Dumas, Lamar Marshall, Cody Bauman, Matthew Bacon, Alan Rogers, Steve Rogers, and Rocky Bonner.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, October 28, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the Fair Park Baptist Church Building Fund.
