Nellie Routh Vaughan

Funeral services for Nellie Routh Vaughan, 91, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 2, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Rev. Betty Swanson and Pastor Ben McGehee officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs.Vaughan was born June 1, 1926, in Jonesville, LA and passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, in Monroe, LA. She was a member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a very active, loving mother and grandmother, and a wonderful cook.

Mrs. Vaughan was preceded in death by her father, Henry Frank Dayton; mother, Nellie Little Dayton; and 2 brothers, Edward Walker Dayton, Sr., and Perry Eli Dayton.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Warren Vaughan and wife Sharon, and Lawrence Vaughan and wife Pam; 1 daughter, Candace Vaughan; sister, Frankie Wilson; sister-in-law, Althea Dayton; 6 grandchildren, David West Vaughan, Brent Vaughan, Brandi Garcie and husband Clay, Jill Reneau, Scott Vaughan and wife Amanda Jane, and Warren Matson and wife Jessica; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, David West Vaughan, Brent Vaughan, Clay Garcie, Scott Vaughan, Warren Matson, and nephew, Edward Dayton.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM until service time Monday, at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Dr. Prem, John and Emma, and Dr. Bart Liles.
