Graveside services celebrating the life of Nellie Louise Scriber Canady, 90, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Norman Bryant officiating. The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Nellie was born on July 3, 1934, in Fort Necessity, Louisiana and passed away on February 6, 2025, in Monroe, Louisiana. 

Mrs. Nellie was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who was cherished by all who knew her. She was also an avid sports fan and loved to watch wrestling and basketball. She loved to collect salt and pepper shakers but most importantly she loved her family. Nellie loved the Lord and was a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Harrison Canady; parents, Clifford and Dora Scriber; sisters, Annette Chamblee, Georgia Dean, Bonnie Cotton, and Faye Hayes; and niece, Tina Campbell.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Stanley Canady and wife, Sherry and Don Canady and wife, Donna; brother, Marvin Scriber and wife, Diana; grandson, Levi Canady, Wesley Canady, and Owen Canady; granddaughters, Maygan Bryan and Madison Canady; as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loved ones. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Zachary Benson, Trevor Lala, Levi Canady, Owen Canady, Brennan Leake, and Austin Chamblee.
