Services for Mrs. Nellie “Me Maw Bell” Stephenson Whittington, 91 of Winnsboro, LA will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro with Rev. Francis Guy and Rev. T. S. Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
 
Me Maw, as she was known to a lot of her children over the years was born on September 13, 1917 in Parkdale, AR and went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2009 while staying at Plantation Manor Rehabilitation in Winnsboro, LA. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and babysitter. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church where she attended faithfully when able. She had a child care center in her home, where she raised many kids with great love. Most of the children she kept have wonderful memories of going to Me Maw Bell's house.
 
Mrs. Whittington was preceded in death by her parents; Charlie and Artie Knight, her first husband and father of her children; Guy Stephenson, her husband; Lawrence Whittington, her son; Wesley Stephenson, her granddaughter; Dewanna Diane Stephenson, her brothers; Thomas, Lonnie, Charlie, and Jack, her sisters; Gladys Lynn and Manthy Wilcox.
 
Survivors include: Son: Harvey Stephenson and his special friend Dewanna Temple of Winnsboro, LA. 2 Daughters: Glenda Skelton along with her husband Leo of Magnolia, AR. Dorothy Simms of Wisner, LA. Brothers: J. L. Knight and and wife Betty of Greenville, MS. J. C. Knight and wife Ann of Chroudrant, LA.  Sister and best friend: Margie Hart and husband Bernard of Winnsboro, LA.  Special friends, Dianne Miller and Zita Calk and special daughter, Barbara Hendrix. 10 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren will all miss her dearly.
 
Pallbearers will be: Paul Wayne Stephenson, Tony Paul Stephenson, Justin Carroll, Donnie Stephenson, Manley “Butch” Simms, Rodney Cherry, Brek Skelton, and Timmy Calk. 
 
Me Maw Bell was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Visitation will be from 5:00 till 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27th. and from 9:00 a.m. till time of service on May 28th at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
