Memorial Services celebrating the life of Mr. Neil “Pete” Dougherty, 75, of Monroe, LA, will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Alan Wright officiating.
Mr. Dougherty was born October 6, 1942 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2018. He retired from General Motors. Pete was an avid reader, enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Margaret Dougherty; and two brothers, David and Noel Dougherty.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Michelle Smith Dougherty; five children, Clint Dougherty, Whitney Pennell and husband Thomas, Ashley Howland and husband Matthew, Amy Robinson and husband Brian, and Joseph Dougherty; seven grandchildren, Kyle Dougherty, Kaitlyn Dougherty, Ethan Howland, Lucas Howland, Grant Robinson, Connor Robinson and Kate Robinson; four sisters, LaNelda Kresge, Ruth Daniels, Alynda Treas, and Jane Westbrook; two brothers, Wylie Dougherty and Bill Dougherty; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his friend and former caregiver, Annette Givens, the administration and staff of the Oaks nursing home, and Charlotte McNeal of Ascend Hospice.
