Funeral services celebrating the life of Nancy Rebecca Ledbetter Wilson, 81, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Monroe, with Rev. R.B. Moore and Rev. Lori Spangler officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road Monroe.
Nancy was born on March 13, 1938, in Sylacauga, Al and passed away January 29, 2020, in Monroe, LA. Over the past forty years, Nancy has enjoyed life by singing and playing music in their VARIETY BAND for wedding receptions, class reunions, and company parties. She served as the drill instructor for the Neville High School Tigerettes and served on the Neville Golf Association for many years. Nancy was also a Charter Member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren. She was kind and loving to all. Everyone who knew Nancy, knew she was the “Real Deal”.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Nan Ledbetter; and one brother, Billy Ledbetter.
Nancy is survived by her husband, William B. Wilson, Jr.;brother, Bob Ledbetter; four children, Lon Wilson and wife, Donna, John Wilson and wife, Mimi, Becky Wilson Head and husband, Mickey, and Kelley Wilson Magee and husband Charles; and nine grandchildren, Dallas Wilson, Danielle Wilson, Sarah Head, William Head, Jackson Wilson and wife Haley, Josh Wilson and wife Mary, Emma Magee, Robert Magee, and Mia Wilson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, February 3, 2020, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Magee, Pat McDonald, Frank Nettles, Jeff Golson, Glenn Varner, William Head, Jackson Wilson, Josh Wilson, Dallas Wilson, and Mickey Head.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Magee, Skip Portman, Pat Anderson, Rich Bailey, and Van Maples.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Gregory Green, Dr. Emile Barrow, Dr. Scott Barron, and St. Francis Medical Center Hospitalist, Dr. Jetta.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one of Nancy’s favorite places, the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston, LA.
