Funeral Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Murlee Everett Walker Wilbanks, 91, of Monroe, LA, will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2023, at Lakeshore Baptist Church, with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville, LA. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Mrs. Wilbanks was born April 23, 1932 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 31, 2023. She was a member of Lakeshore Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilbanks enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, gardening, listening to gospel music, working in her yard. She was a fierce dominos player, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Jessie Mann Everett; two brothers, Luther Lee Everett and Bobby Joe Everett; and three sisters, Billie Winn Thrower, Linda Nell “Lynn” Lewis, Betty Sue Smith; and husband John Henry Walker.
Survivors include her children, John Walker and wife Pam, Frances Self and husband Doug, Carolyn Gates and husband Bob, Marilyn Drewett and husband Tom; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Carrick, Janice Booth, and Shirley Gates; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Pallbearers will be Trey Drewett, Kyle Drewett, Wes Self, Curt Self, Blake Self, and Gene Ford. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Morphis and James Shelton.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the LaSalle Nursing Home and the LaSalle General Hospital 2nd floor Staff and Dr. Barnard.
Memorials may be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church grounds fund.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2023, at Lakeshore Baptist Church.
