Funeral services for Mrs. Rhoda Tripp, 89, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 12:00Noon Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Lakeshore Baptist Church with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
Mrs. Tripp passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017. She was a longtime member of Lakeshore Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Mr. J. E. Tripp, Jr.; grandson, Dennis McCarty; two sisters, Louise Chapman and Florence “Bo” Johnson; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Tripp.
Survivors include her sons, James E. “Skipper” Tripp III of Brentwood, TN, and Scott Tripp and wife Krystal of Monroe, LA; daughters, Candy Tripp Manning and husband Mike of Monroe, LA; and Pam Tripp McCarty and Husband, Darryl of Monroe, LA; thirteen grandchildren, Sarah James Myatt and husband Jacob of Madison, TN, Emily Tripp of New York City, NY, Megan Darcangelo and husband Michael of Clarksville, TN, and Amber Neeley of Columbia, TN, Michael Manning and wife Maya of San Francisco, CA, Christy Bledsoe and husband Jeremy of West Memphis, AR, Danny McCarty and wife Angela of Fayetteville, AR, Larry McCarty and wife Lauren of Monroe, LA, and Andy Tripp and wife Becky of Monroe, LA, Jonathan Tripp and wife Jessica of Monroe, LA, Emily Hanson of Shreveport, LA, and Kaleb Hanson of Monroe, LA; nine great grandchildren, Braydon Rowe, Abigail Myatt, Eliana McCarty, Kaylee Neeley, Sebastian Tripp, Benjamin Manning, Alex Bledsoe, Keller McCarty, and Ethan Manning; sister, Roberta DeRossett and husband David of McKinney, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Pallbearers will be Larry McCarty, Andy and Jonathan Tripp, Jeremy Bledsoe, Rusty Whitten, David Garner, Gene Ford and Glenn Bennett.
Memorials may be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
The family wishes to thank everyone who took such special care of our mother over the last six weeks.
A special thank you for our hospice caregivers, Rita, Steve and Andrea. They were truly remarkable.
We would also like to say a special thank you to Denise, who was with Mom for every day of the last six weeks. She was a loving caregiver and provided great emotional support for each of us throughout this journey.
Andrea an Denise serenaded Mom with a soulful rendition of “Happy Birthday” on Mom’s special day. It was truly a high-light for all of us.
