Services for Mrs. Mavis Mangum, 98 of Winnsboro, will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, with Rev. Shawn Hornsby, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro officiating. Interment will follow in Gwin Cemetery in Mangham, LA., under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Mrs. Mangum was preceded in death by her husband, Buford E. “Spike” Mangum, her parents; Neal and Ella Thames, brothers; Ray Thames and wife Ollabell, and Thomas Thames and wife Aileen, sisters; Ruth Rountree and husband Carroll, and Loreece Reagan and husband Son Reagan, and daughter-in-law; Fran Mangum.Survivors include: Her children; Charles Mangum and wife Jan of Thornton, CO., Terry Mangum of Winnsboro, LA., Sandra Curry and husband Bentley of Rayville, LA., and Tom Mangum of Charlotte, NC., sisters; Wilma Harris of Murfreesboro, TN., and Doris Evans of Baton Rouge, LA., Nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.Pallbearers are: Trey Curry, Ben Curry, Alan Curry, Nathan Curry, Noah Curry, Brian Mangum, and Matthew Mangum.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of the United Methodist Church in Winnsboro, LA.Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. till time of service on Saturday, April 2nd at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
