Graveside services for Mary Gordon Estopinal Guinn, known to family and friends as Bootsie, will be held Saturday, August 15, 2015, at 2:00 at Evergreen Cemetery, Gulfport, Mississippi, under the direction of Riemann Family Funeral Homes. She died Sunday, August 9, 2015, in Monroe, Louisiana, where she resided following Hurricane Katrina.She is survived by her children, William Scott Guinn and his wife Clara Moss Sartor Guinn of Monroe, Louisiana, and Jane Montgomery Guinn Jones and her husband Bobby Jones of Bossier City, Louisiana, her grandson Robert Jones also of Bossier City, and her cousin, Vyvian Smylie Blanchard of Shreveport, Louisiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walker Guinn, and parents, William Estopinal and Janie Scott Smylie Estopinal, all of Gulfport.A native of Gulfport, Bootsie was born on December 19, 1920. She attended Gulf Park College and graduated from Belhaven College. She and her husband lived in Greenwood, Mississippi, for over 40 years, where she was a member of the Junior Auxiliary of Greenwood and the Greenwood Garden Club. They moved to Gulfport upon her husband’s retirement, where she was a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club Auxiliary, the Culture Club and St. Peter’s –by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.The family would like to express thanks and appreciation to her caregivers, Loretta Finley, Kristy Myles and Monique McGee, the management and staff of Azalea Estates and St. Joseph Hospice.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mississippi Children’s Home, 1465 Lakeland Dr., Jackson, MS 39216.
