Margaret’s love of travel took her all across the US, into Europe and Middle East. And to say she was an avid sports fan is an understatement. It started with her son, Mickey’s sports career as All-City in elementary school, All-American at Neville High School, Chinese Bandits at LSU and on to the NFL. Her years of support and loyalty to Neville HS was recognized when she received the 2001 Bob & Nan Ledbetter Tiger Appreciation Award. ULM had her support for football and basketball but especially the baseball team where her claim to fame was “The Pie Lady”. Most recently she traveled with her daughter and son-in-law to New York to attend a game played in the old Yankee Stadium and to Atlanta to cheer on ‘her’ Braves and Cardinals.

Margaret was a Certified Dental Assistant working with Dr. W. E. Smith and Dr. Henry Davis. She was receptionist/PBX operator for Malone-Hyde where she retired in 1989.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Ollie Lindsey; and her siblings, Blanche Gull, W. C. “Dub” Lindsey, Guy Adkins, Ruth Cole, and jack Lindsey.

Survivors include her three children, Mickey Cox of Texas, Elaine McGee and husband Jerry of Missouri, and Ann Farr and husband Paul of Monroe; grandchildren, Mike and Cindy Cox of Texas, Greg and Robin Cox of West Monroe, Merideth McGee Magnuson and Justin of Tennessee, Amy McGee and Clayton and Kym McGee of Missouri; sixteen great-grandchildren, two nieces, Cindy Hampton and Sue Kelly; two nephews, Kirby Gull and T. Kent Lindsey; beloved brother-in-law, Wimpy Adkins; sister-in-law, JoAnn Lindsey, and all those who lovingly considered her “Momma Cox” and GaGa”.
