Funeral services for Mrs. Jerry Ann Venable, 85, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, February 20, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Bruce Rux officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Venable passed away Friday, February 17, 2017, at her residence. She was a member of Graceminster Presbyterian Church and the St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary in Monroe. Mrs. Venable was a graduate of Ouachita High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University, where she was the Homecoming Queen in 1950. She loved going to the beach and spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Venable was preceded in death by brother, Joseph E. Freeman, Jr.; father, J.E. Freeman; stepfather, Wilton J. Humphries; mother, Francis Humphries; and step brother, Gordon Freeman.
Survivors include her husband Charles R. Venable; son, Charles Michael Venable; daughter, Melodie V. Bradley and husband Jack; grandsons, Joshua Leporati and wife Miranda and Joseph Leporati; great grandsons, Sawyer and Eli Leporati.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Leporati, Joseph Leporati, Sal Petitto, Gary Mathes, Fred Monroe, Greg Manley, Venoy Kinnaird, and Bennie Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Quinn Becker, George Gabriel, Sam Kearns, Gardner Smith, Jim Roark, Mike Bell, and Dixon Abell.
Honorary pallbearer is Freddie Nolan.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to her caretakers, Connie Smith, LaShanda Brown, Sharon Mathis, Dr. Kerry Anders and Louisiana Hospice.
