Morgan was more than just statistics. From daddy to uncle, papaw to great grandpa, even colleague to friend, a finer man could not be found. He was a curious man and spent many an hour with his kids working on science fair projects, hunting and fishing, model cars, and even dissecting snakes. He loved squirrels and birds and sitting in his favorite rocker feeding them. Morgan could tame a bird or a squirrel in just a few weeks! He was a longtime supporter and volunteer with the Twin City Ballet Company. But his truest love was his beautiful wife, Charlotte. Meeting at only 15, they shared a courtship lasting 65 years, and married for almost 62. They loved road trips, camping, the beach, and of course, canoodling. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his dearest treasures. He was always so proud of them and involved in their many adventures. He left an imprint in many hearts and lives and will be dearly missed until we see him again in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Morgan Crawford, Sr. and Lorene Owens Crawford.
Survivors include his loving wife, Charlotte Crawford; children, Bruce Crawford and wife Kayla, Steve Crawford and wife Lisa, Jodi Crawford Wright, and Gretchen Crawford Jones and husband Tram; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; brothers, Chuck Crawford and Joe Crawford; sister, Merry Guy Street; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Crawford, Trenton Crawford, Will Crawford, Ben Crawford, Bryce McElveen, and Cole Morgan Crawford.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Morgan Wright, Quinten Jeffery, Brayden McElveen, Trevor Crawford, and Noah Crawford.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the Twin City Ballet Company.
