Funeral services celebrating the life of Mollie May Harrell, 68, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 9, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Dr. Bill Dye and Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Mollie was born on August 26, 1949, in Forest, Louisiana, and passed away April 6, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center.
Mollie attended North Monroe Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. She received her B.S. degree from Northeast Louisiana University. She retired as an educator after many years teaching and coaching in both Ouachita Parish and Monroe City schools. Mollie enjoyed gardening, was a wonderful cook, and regularly attended roundtable meetings with her loyal friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Julia May and her sister Mackie May.
Survivors: husband, John M. “Nubbin” Harrell; Daughters, Casey Denmon Smith and husband, Gary of Kingwood, TX and Kelly Denmon Hilliard and husband, Clay of Monroe, LA; step-sons, John M. Harrell, Jr and wife, Lynn and Michael Thomas Harrell and wife, Angela; Grandchildren, Ainsley Smith, Collier Smith, Molly Smith, Julia Hilliard, Sarah Hilliard, Bryce Hilliard, Ashlynn Hilliard, Austin Hilliard, Jessica Harrell, Ashton Harrell, and Abby Harrell; Sisters, Jean Childress, Frankie Rodgers, and Sheila Haynes; Brother, Junior May and wife, Debbie; numerous nieces and nephews; and her very loyal friends from the Round Table.
Pallbearers will be Sal Pettito, Jack Plummer, John Harrell, Jr., Junior May, Ryan Barker, and John Moss.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
