Funeral services celebrating the life of Johanna Comrato, 100, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday September 18, 2017 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Rev. James Dominic officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery.
Johanna died September 14, 2017 St. Francis Medical Center.
Johanna was a charter member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe, LA, where she was a faithful member of the Altar Society and served in various capacities until the closing of the church in 2005. After the closing she and her sisters started attending Daily Mass at the St. Francis Chapel in the hospital. She was retired from Haddad Clothing, where she was the bookkeeper for over 50 years.
Survivors: Sisters, Marie Comrato and Virginia Comrato; Niece, Margaret Anzalone; Great Nieces and Nephew, Lisa Dorris Wassick, Gail Dorris Boyd, Kathy Dorris Stewart, Donna Dorris Ferlicca, Laura Anzalone and Calvin “Chip” Dorris; numerous great great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Frank Anzalone, III, Robert K. Wilson, Mark Norris, Lanny Stewart, Paul Burke, Ronnie Boyd, and Nash Norris. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin “Chip” Dorris, Walter Ballard and Bernard Ballard.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home. A vigil wake service and rosary will be held at 7:00 P.M.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
