Graveside services for Mr. Milton Bruce Davidson, 78, of West Monroe, LA, will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Hasley Cemetery Pavilion in West Monroe, LA, with Bro. Ricky Baker officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, November 5, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Bruce was born on August 18, 1943, and passed away on October 30, 2021. Bruce graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1961.
He attended Northeast Louisiana State College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in accounting. Bruce served in the Army National Guard for 4 years. While serving in the military, he began his career in sales and management at Sherwin Williams where he retired after 20 years of service. With faith and the support of his family, Bruce became an entrepreneur and found success in his business, Davidson Paint and Wallpaper. He was a former member of the Louisiana Home Builders Association, Chamber of Commerce, Civitan Club, Ducks Unlimited, and was a coach for the Dixie Youth Baseball League at the West Monroe Recreation Center. Bruce was an avid deer hunter. He also loved being on the water whether in a ski boat, houseboat, pontoon boat or even at the dock grilling with family and friends. He developed many friendships along the way, and he lived life to the fullest!
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Duchesne Davidson; father, Milton Clay Davidson; mother, Florence “Coty” Kilpatrick Davidson; and stepson, Joshua Cade Laing.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna Laing Davidson; son, Shane Davidson and wife, Stacey; daughter, Marcee Littlefield and husband, Troy; and stepdaughter, Christy Merriweather. Bruce was affectionately known as “Pops” by his grandchildren: Parker, Will, and Peyton Davidson; Mary Grace and Molly Littlefield; Dillon Goodwin, Ainslee Little, and Mackenzie Merriweather; Brock, Emma, and Josh Laing; two great-grandchildren, Maziya and Cade Brown; brother, Steve Davidson; sister, Reata Slusher and husband, Kenneth; niece, Sundee Nutt and husband, Rowdy; and nephew, Todd Slusher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mary Davidson Nursing Scholarship Fund at ULM or the charity of your choice.
