Memorial Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Mildred “Nanny” Henderson, 86, of West Monroe, LA, will be 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Dennis Hensley officiating. A Private Inurnment will be held at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Mrs. Henderson was born May 16, 1935 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 14, 2022. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Henderson was known as “Nanny” by her loved ones. She loved coloring on her tablet, but most importantly when she was able to be in her yard, gardening. Nanny also loved fishing, hunting in her younger days and most recently loved terrorizing her fur babies with her yard stick!
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph D. Barnett and Blanche Carter Barnett; husband, Troy L. Henderson; daughter, Sheila Dianne Weeks; siblings, Dorothy Alford, Catherine Erving, Gladys Boyle, Peter Hobson, James Barnett, Henry Barnett, son, Sammy Herring; and son-in-law, Terry Gilmore.
Survivors include daughter, Linda Charlotte Gilmore; three sons, Terry Herring (Sylvia), Ricky Henderson (Charlotte), and Ronnie Henderson (Kelly); daughter-in-law, Debbie Herring; five grandchildren, Lori Michelle Wade (Kerry), John Thomas Kirksey (Violet), Tonya Humphrey (Barry), Tammy Gates (Randy), and David Odell “Lucky” Weeks (CeCe); nineteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Barnett (Sue) and Joseph Barnett; sister, Minnie Frances Flemming; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Nanny’s caretaker, Kem Menzie; physical therapists, Kasey and Mimms; as well as the staff of St. Joseph Hospice and STAT Home Health.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
Memorials may be made to the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home or the American Cancer Society.
She will be missed by many!!
