Graveside services for Mrs. Mildred Louise Haynes, 96, of Monroe, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, May 10, 2021, at Rocky Springs Cemetery with Rev. Jack Stegemann and Rev. David Howie officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Haynes was born October 29, 1924, in Ruston, LA, and passed away at her home Saturday, May 1, 2021. Mrs. Haynes attended A.E. Phillips Teacher Training School for grades 1-11 on the Louisiana Tech campus, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Science in June of 1944. After graduating, she worked as a secretary in the business manager’s office of Standard Oil Company of New Jersey in the Louisiana division. She then gained employment as a secretary in the Student Employment Department of Louisiana Tech University for a couple of years before moving to Baton Rouge, where she married Levelle Haynes in August of 1948. After she was married, she worked for the Claiborne Abstract office in Homer for a short time, before moving to Minden where she worked in the Minden Clerk of Court office. Mr. and Mrs. Haynes moved to Monroe in September of 1958, where they became members of College Place Baptist Church.
Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by her husband, Levelle Haynes, and her parents, Henry D. and Georgia Shows Alden.
Survivors include her three daughters Alice Haynes Stegemann (Rev. Jack), Judy Haynes Howie (Rev. David), and Janice Haynes (Paul Outly); son Fred Levelle Haynes; six grandchildren, Adam Stegemann (Amanda), John Stegemann (Ashlie), Daniel Howie, Lauren Howie, Mackenzie Willett (Jacob), Keaton Cole (Mallory); and four great-grandchildren, Sophie Stegemann, Jude Stegemann, Milo Stegemann and Hunter Cole.
