Mildred was born March 2, 1928, in Davenport, Iowa, grew up in Glasco, Ks. and moved to Monroe in 1955 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 28, 2023. She was a loyal member of First Methodist Monroe.
Mildred enjoyed various hobbies and interests. She loved whistling while sewing and made most of the clothes her 6 daughters wore. She retired from St. Francis Medical Center after 31 years of service. Mildred was an avid quilter and tried to go to Ouachita Council on Aging four days a week, to quilt with other quilters, and exercise with attendees. She made quilts for all her daughters and sons in law as well as her 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She also enjoyed going once a week to Reveille Methodist Church where she helped make Raggedy Ann dolls which were sold, and the proceeds were donated to the Ronald McDonald House and other missions.
Throughout her life Mildred lived her faith in Jesus Christ and guided her daughters to love the Lord.
Mildred cherished the moments spent with loved ones, sharing stories and laughter. Her warmth and love created a bond that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate to know her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Don V. Archer, parents Elson Bishop and Margaret Bishop, brother John Bishop and grandson David Archer Stegall.
Mildred leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience. She is survived by her 6 daughters Karen LeBeau (Dennis), Vicki Casiday (Joe), Pamela Stegall (Richard), Donna Nelson (Phil), Denise Archer and Sara Molly Ciaschini (Barry). Grandchildren Jason Tanner (Kelsey), Fonda Gordy (David), Amanda Nelson (Philip), Courtney McKay (Scot), Rick Stegall, Stacy Morris (David), Kelli Gorski (Luke) and Jordan Archer, 16 great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Nancy Bishop, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Stegall, Jason Tanner, David Morris, Jordan Archer, Luke Gorski, David Gordy and Philip Nelson.
The family extends love and appreciation to care givers at La Hospice and Palliative care. A special note of appreciation to Kristina Ramsey, Nicole Leblanc, Diva Jones, Julia Cain and Ricky Butler.
Memorials may be made to First Methodist Monroe.
