Mike Caldwell’s faith became sight at 10:58am on January 6th, 2015. He was born on March 15, 1945 in Gilbert, LA in the home of his aunt. Mike was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, deacon, teacher, coach, principal, truck driver, and friend. Mike attended NLU and graduated with his bachelor’s in 1967 and obtained his master’s + 30 in 1979. He spent two years in ROTC and two years in the Army from 1967 to 1969. Mike and Jo married in 1965, and next year would have been their 50th anniversary. “Daddy Mike” never met a stranger and he loved people fiercely. He was preceded in death by his parents Murray and Ida Ezell Caldwell, and his loved in-laws Ernest and Mary Jo Meredith. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jo, his children Chris and Todd Roberts and Devin and Tandi Caldwell, His sister Marie Collins, and his sister in law Jan Williamson and his nephews John Williamson, Kip and Ramona and Tray Gates and his niece Lori Skow. His grandchildren were the love of his life: Tyler and Patti, Chelsea, Hailey, Makayla, Tanner, and Cade. His great grandchildren: Kerrigan and Jack Tyler. Pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church, Wisner. The Service will be held on Saturday, January 10th at 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church, Wisner, with Rev. Thomas Peoples officiating. Interment will follow in Oakley Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.
