Michael John Urban III

Funeral services celebrating the life of Michael John “Mickey” Urban III, 82, of West Monroe, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 3, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Johnny Hankins officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Hasley Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time.

Michael John Urban III, 82 of West Monroe, LA passed away in his home Friday, December 27, 2024. Those who knew Michael Urban referred to him as “Mickey”. Mickey proudly served in the United States Air Force, USAF during the Vietnam War. Mickey joined the USAF, February 14, 1964 as an Airmen (E-1) and was trained as an Instrument Repair Technician. Mickey proudly worked on the USAF B-52’s and C-130’s. Following his tours in Vietnam, Mickey separated from the USAF honorable with the rank of Staff Sergeant, SSGT (E-5), on February 13, 1970. 

After Mickey’s military career, Mickey pursued his love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Mickey fished in the early days of the BASS Tournaments and always spoke of competing with some of the BASS Stars and beating some of them. Mickey never stopped loving the outdoors.

December 24, 1975 changed Mickey’s life, it was on this day he meets the love of his life, Brenda Urban. They met at an office Christmas Party in Monroe, LA. Mickey told Brenda after just meeting her on this night he was going to marry her. Mickey succeeded in marrying Brenda on August 2, 1977. For 49 years Mickey took care of Brenda, expressing his love for her daily. 

Mickey was preceded in death by his father, Michael John Urban, Jr.; mother, Mary Louise Farmer Urban; and brother, Bill Urban.

Those left to cherish Mickey’s memory are his beloved wife, Brenda Urban; daughter, Kim Cummings and her husband, Todd; brother, Bobby Urban (Llen); grandchildren, Brandon Wilson, Haleigh Tisdale (Justin), Jacklyn Hearne (Jason), and Michael Cummings (Makenzie); and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy Miller, Chris Miller, Kendall Farrar, Justin Tisdale, Jason Hearne, and Michael Cummings.
