Michael S. Hughes

Funeral Services for Michael Shawn Hughes, 44, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Pastor Jeff Sykes officiating. Interment will follow in Crowville Masonic Cemetery in Crowville, LA. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Tuesday.

Mr. Hughes was born December 9, 1976, in Eudora, AR and passed away November 24, 2021, in Monroe, LA. He was a member of Warsaw Baptist Church. After living and working in several different locations, he was diagnosed with M.S. in 2011 and settled in West Monroe, LA, in 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Hughes, Jr. and Veronica Maxwell; and brother, Adam Denton Hughes.

Survivors include his two sons, Michael A. Hughes and wife Taylor of Calhoun, and Christopher S. Hughes and wife Chapin of Rayville; grandchildren, Haidyn Hughes, Adalynn Hughes, and Gabriel Hughes; brothers, Shannon Maxwell (Jessica), Stacy Maxwell (Whitney), and Matt Hughes (Allison); stepmother, Kim Hughes; stepfather, Donnie Maxwell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Michael A. Hughes, Christopher S. Hughes, Matt Hughes, Stacy Maxwell, Chuck Martindale, and Dave Herrick.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Maxwell and Shannon Maxwell.
