Funeral Services for Mr. Michael Bradley Lomax, 70, of Monroe, LA, will be 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Preacher James Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.
Mr. Lomax was born September 12, 1952 and passed away on May 19, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. Mr. Lomax was a graduate of Neville High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in business from Louisiana Tech University. Mr. Lomax worked for the Social Security Administration for 25 years.
On a funny note, Mr. Lomax is the only known individual to have a brick placed in his honor on the campus of Louisiana Tech, but the brick was placed inadvertently upside down compared to the others near the graduate’s walkway. He joked with the dean of the school at that time, this would be a huge undertaking to change all the other bricks to face the way his was. Mr. Lomax instead chose to keep his brick as it was laid originally.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mildred Dollar Lomax and Donnan Bradley Lomax.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Susan McNeil Lomax; three children, Robert Carl Lomax and wife Anne, Donnan Bradley Lomax II and wife Molly, Shannon Diane Lomax Black and husband Kolby; five grandchildren, Lorelai, Scarlett, Nicolette, Emerson and Eliza; sister, Donna Diane Brown; nieces, Rebecca and Rachel; nephews, Robert and Ryan.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Spatafora, James Gilbert, Jack DeMers, Patrick Ryan Brown, Michael Robert Brown, and James Enoch Bass III.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his caregivers, Bri, Kenyatta, Jean, the staff of LTAC and Dr. Dean Stockstill.
Memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
