Merline Watkins

Funeral Services for Mrs. Merline Watkins, 85, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2019, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Mrs. Merline Watkins was born July 2, 1933 and passed away January 2, 2019. She was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church. She was an excellent grandmother, a great cook and loved to square dance.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert E. Simpson and James E. Watkins.

Survivors include her son, Mike Simpson and wife Maria; granddaughter, Brandy Deck and husband Logan; great grandchildren, Benton and Bailey Donahue, and Mills Deck; brother, Herland Antley and wife Syble, stepchildren, Russell Watkins, Terry Watkins and Janet Wesselhoft; and her dear friend, Margie Skipper.

Pallbearers will be John “Pistol” Carter, Tim Thrailkill, Tom Mulhearn, Bill Thurston, John Heath and Logan Deck.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, January 4, 2019, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
