The celebration of life for Merl Davis Dickson will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at First Christian Church, 7805 Desiard Street, Monroe. Visitation begins at 2:00 P.M. until the time of service at 3:00 P.M.
Merl Davis Dickson was born November 12, 1946, and went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior February 14, 2025, at the age of 78.
Merl was preceded in death by his parents, William Merl and Callie Beatrice Dickson. He is survived by his loving wife, Jan; his son, Ryan and wife Julie; his daughter, Tammy and husband Drew; daughter, Tara and husband Will. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Ruth Aton and husband Skip. Also to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Taylor, Trenton, Parker Davis, Megan, Regan, Sarah, Georgia, Madeline, Ryce, Ryder and Kinley; great grandchildren, Magnolia, Avery and Gabriel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Merl was a true man of God who loved his church, his family, and his grandchildren. He retired from Ryan Chevrolet after 34 years. He lived his last two years to the fullest, doing all the things he loved the most. If he wasn’t fishing, hunting, or attending LSU football, he was camping, traveling, and watching grandsons’ baseball games and supporting River Oaks sports. He was always the life of the party and always full of witty jokes. He will truly be missed by his family.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the First Christian Church Agape Fund. Mailing address: P.O. Box 8092, Monroe, LA 71211.
