Private family service for Mr. Merill Edwin Moody, 74, of Sterlington, LA, will be held January 7, 2021, with Rev Bubba Hoggatt officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in Marion, LA.
Mr. Moody was born on July 18, 1946, in Haynesville, LA, and passed away on January 3, 2021, in Sterlington, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Moody was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion, the Communication Workers of America, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was an avid hunter and loved old cars. Mr. Moody loved all his grandchildren, great grandchildren, including the one on the way. He is happy to be reunited with his special dog, Hogie. Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Myrtle Moody.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Alma Moody; children, Carlton Folsom, Susan Karr, Ray Moody, Lori Beatty, Donja Martin, Scott Spencer, and Tammy Zelinski; and sister, Jerill Arnold.
Pallbearers will be Billie Manning, Mike Spillers, Randy Upchurch, Donnie Beavers, Don Johnston, and Rex Spencer. Honorary pallbearer will be Joe Niswanger.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to St. Jude.
