Melissa Lynn “Missy” ZaunbrecherFuneral services for Melissa Lynn “Missy” Zaunbrecher, of Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, February 12, 2015, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe with Reverend Richard Norsworthy, Reverend Lijo Thomas and Deacon Marc Vereen officiating. Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Melissa passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015, in her home. Missy was born on December 19, 1966, in Monroe, Louisiana, at St. Francis Hospital, to Harry and Lucy Zaunbrecher. She grew up in Jones, Louisiana, where she enjoyed fishing, hunting and helping her dad on the farm. Missy loved and took care of multiple pets and never turned down a stray. She graduated from All Saints Episcopalian School in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Missy also attended Vo-Tech School in West Monroe where she majored in television/radio production. She worked for CPI in Alexandria in the psychiatric unit and traveled in the Photography Division for many years. Missy also worked in the ophthalmic unit as an ophthalmologist assistant in the Le Blanc Eye Clinic in Alexandria. She then worked with her mother, Lucy, as her assistant in the production of the Ms. Lucy’s Classic Cajun Culture and Cooking Show. She was employed by Rays of Sonshine as a receptionist. Melissa was gregarious and outgoing; she touched everyone in her life with laughter.She is preceded in death by her father, Harry Zaunbecher. Survivors include her mother, Lucy Zaunbrecher; sister, Barbara McKenzie; brother, Todd Zaunbrecher; and niece, Lucy McKenzie. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Pallbearers will be Rowland Crymes, Ryan Crymes, Nicholas Fisher, Jeff Zaunbrecher, Damian Bollich and Paul Havard.
