Funeral Services for Maxine Bryant Doles, 94, of Rayville, LA will be held at Rayville United Methodist Church on Sunday June 3, 2012 at 3:00 PM with Rev. John Robert Black officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home –Rayville, LA
Mrs. Doles was born on September 25, 1917 in Eminence, Missouri and passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012. She married the late Basil Doles, Sr. in 1941 and has been a resident of Rayville, LA since 1948.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 30, 2002 after sixty one years together, four brothers, Bill Bryant, Ray Bryant, Seldon Bryant and Elmo Bryant and three sisters, Bertha O’Bannon, Faye Simmons and Aileen Landry. She is survived by her son Basil Doles, Jr. his wife, Gail and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Mrs. Doles was a retired school teacher of the Richland Parish School System. She attended Louisiana Normal in Natchitoches, LA, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA and what is now ULM in Monroe, achieving a degree in Education, Masters and plus 30 hours. Maxine enjoyed her family, bridge club and traveling with her husband.
Pallbearers will be Michael McGrath, Tommy McGrath, Fred Franklin, Roy Franklin, Don Doles, Jimmy Doles, Doug Robinson and Phillip Lee.
The Family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Ronald Hubbard and staff, the staff at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and Wilma Hart for the excellent care of Mom in these last difficult years.
The family would request that Memorials be made to the Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston or Rayville United Methodist Church.
