Max Irvin Vangilder

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Max Irvin Vangilder, 79, of Monroe, LA, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Rowland Road Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Graveside Services will be 2:15 PM Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at French Cemetery in Center Point, LA.

Mr. Vangilder was born on January 7, 1946, and went to be with Lord and Savior on April 17, 2025. He was a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church. Mr. Vangilder was in the trucking business for 55 years. He traveled all over the United States. Mr. Vangilder enjoyed golfing, gardening, yard work, and drinking coffee with his buddies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arlie Vangilder and Lilie Campbell Vangilder; brother, A J Vangilder; and sister-in-law, Pat Vangilder.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife of 55 years, Diane Luneau Vangilder; son, Justin Kyle Vangilder; siblings, Wayne Earl Vangilder and wife Beverly of St. Charles, MO; Tommy Vangilder and wife Judy of Jonesboro, AR, Bill Vangilder and wife Sandra of Paragould, AR, Rhonda Linam and husband Mike of Wynne, AR; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Pallbearers will be Bill Vangilder, Mike Linam, Brandon Luneau, Brian Luneau, and Kerry Luneau, and William Guimbellot. Honorary Pallbearers will be Merv Smith, Dieter Watson, Dooley Jordan, Benny Spruill, Keith Luneau, and Donnie Luneau.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elara Hospice and the doctors and staff of St. Francis Medical Center.
