Max F. Waite, age 89, of Houston died March 18, 2017. Born July 2, 1927 in Rayville, LA, he was a son of the late Bernard L. Waite, Sr. and Julia Fischel Waite. Mr. Waite honorably served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Frederick Funston. A graduate of Northeast Louisiana University, he was employed for 32 years with United Energy Resources in Monroe, Shreveport and Houston and for 20 years with Klein Independent School District in Houston. He was a member of Spring Woods United Methodist Church.
Mr. Waite was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth Morse Waite and his brother, Bernard L. Waite. Survivors include sons Bradley L. Waite of Lago Vista, TX and Brian G. Waite of Houston; grandchildren Melissa Davis, Krista Power, and Zachary Waite; great-grandsons Jacob and Evan Power; sister-in-law Lennis D. Waite; niece Sue W. Johnson and her husband Paul; and special friend Martha Loisey.
Graveside services will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA at a later date.
