Mavaline C. Wheelis

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Mavaline C. Wheelis, 86, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 24, 2017 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Johnnie Kane officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Wheelis was born April 16, 1930 and passed away January 21, 2017. She was a member of Abundant Life Apostolic Church. Mrs. Wheelis loved cooking for everyone including her church family. She was preceded in death by her son, James Taylor; grandson, Benny Taylor, Jr.; two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Huey Wheelis; sons, Benny Taylor and wife Annette and Don Wheelis and wife Peggy; grandsons, Lee Wheelis and wife Jennifer, Brandon Wheelis and wife Erica and John Taylor; great grandchildren, Brayden, Connor, Emma, Luke and Bryn; sister, Beatrice Gryder; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Willie Kerrigan, Don Newell, Buddy Coleman, Lee Wheelis, Brandon Wheelis, and Blake Wheelis. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bobby Wheelis.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the Abundant Life Apostolic Church in West Monroe, LA.
