Funeral services for Matthew Leslie Trichel, 42, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday October 11, 2024, at Rowland Rd. Baptist Church in Monroe, LA with Rev. Jonathan Barbo and Rev. Norman Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA, Visitation will be 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Rowland Rd Baptist Church in Monroe, LA

Matthew died at his residence on October 6, 2024.

Matthew enjoyed spending time in the outdoors walking in the woods and by the pond enjoying God’s gift of nature. He was a big sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching all different types. He was also a very huge New Orleans Saints fan, never missing a game. 

Matthew is preceded in death by; his grandmothers, Carolyn Jean Riggins, Soula Ame Freeman Trichel, Katherine Pleasants; grandfathers, Augustine Leslie Trichel and Joseph Lauerdale Pleasants; and uncle, Martin Frith. 

Survivors: his mother and step-father, Sharon and Wes Pleasants; father and step-mother, Wayne and Renee Trichel; brothers, Eric Pleasants, Trey Pleasants, and Ian Riggins; sisters, Jessica Cupit and Tricia Trichel; Daughter, Emily Trichel; grandfather G. Lowry Riggins; Uncles and Aunts, Wayne and Cathy Pleasants, Roy and Kathy Chapman, Louis and Diane Trichel and Thelma Frith; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Nix, Michael Holland, Rocky Pierce, Quincy Powell, Daryl Wolgemuth and Steven Baker.

Memorials may be made to Samaritans Purse, Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter, the Humane Society of Monroe, or the charity of your choice to help with Hurricane Relief Efforts.
