Funeral services for Mr. Yamada of Weeki Wachee, Florida, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Rd, (US Hwy 165 N), Monroe, La with Father Philip Pathayakari officiating. Following the ceremony the burial well be at the Douciere Cemetery, 928 Hwy 561, near Rayville, La.
Mr. Yamada, 70, died at Brooksville, Florida, on October 27 of complications following surgery. He was born in Kyoto Province, Japan. He studied at Doshisha University, Kyoto-City, and went on to study architecture at Washington University, St. Louis, Mo. He was awarded a scholarship to study at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts, Fontainebleau, France. As an architect, he worked and traveled in the United States, Japan, Europe, South America, and Asia. He has had exhibitions of his artworks in the United States and Japan.
Mr. Yamada is survived by his wife Nettie Marie Bacle, an architect and native of Richland Parish; sister-in-law Teruko Yamada; sister-in-law Cecile B. Kreymer and her husband John; nieces and nephews , Hiroshi, Mariko, and Tamayo Yamada, and Amy and Kraig Kreymer of La. And Mo. respectively.
Pallbearers will be John W. Kreymer, Dr. John Kraig Kreymer, Dr. Richard Douciere, David Douciere, David Cooper, and Eric Broadway.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
